  A beautiful experience again...

  We always have a great time staying at Riu Montego Bay. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms could use an upgrade to fully accentuate the experience. Riu should bring back having cloth towels in the restrooms.

  Great Hotel but very busy

  Stayed here for 4 Nights and really enjoyed it. Staff are great, food is great, the only downside for us was that it is so noisy. From 10am every day there is nowhere really to just sit back and relax quietly. No lifts in a few of the blocks so you have to carry your suitcases up a few flights of stairs. Splashworld was great, the beach lovely although the snorkelling is rubbish due to the amount of weed. The other 2 Hotels are allowed access to this Hotel but not the other way round, it would have been nice if we could use the Beaches of the other hotels for the peace and the snorkelling. Overall really enjoyed it. Sleep quality was mostly great except for a couple of idiot groups of women who decided to wake everybody up at 1:30am and 4am on the same night.

  Relaxing Holiday

  Fine Resort, good service, food and hygiene. Only too much noise from drunk costumers in the pools and at the entertainement and too much noise from the entertainement (far too loud!).

  Riu Montego Bay

  Hotel Review: Riu Montego Bay, Jamaica (16th–23rd April) ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Our recent stay at the Riu Montego Bay between the 16th and 23rd of April was an enjoyable and relaxing experience overall, with a few caveats worth noting. Check-In & Accommodation Check-in was swift and efficient, with the front desk staff offering a warm welcome. I would highly recommend opting for a room upgrade. We stayed in room 6318, which offered stunning sea views and was immaculately maintained – truly one of the highlights of our stay. Food & Dining The food across the main buffet and restaurants was, unfortunately, somewhat underwhelming. While meals were clearly marked for allergens – which is commendable – the dishes often lacked warmth and variety. As a gluten-free guest, I found the GF bread to be particularly poor in both quality and texture. On a more positive note, the Italian speciality restaurant stood out thanks to the excellent service and the chef's personal attention to preparing a superb gluten-free meal. However, the steakhouse was a disappointment, offering only ribs as a GF option – quite limiting. An additional issue was the butter, which was in liquid form upon opening – not what one would expect and not confidence-inspiring. I would suggest giving this venue a miss if dietary requirements are a consideration. Beach & Surroundings We based ourselves on the beach near Block Six. The beach felt semi-manmade and lacked a bit of the natural charm you'd expect from a Caribbean shoreline. That said, the sea itself was beautiful, although access was somewhat restricted due to significant seaweed build-up roughly a metre out from the shore. Excursions We took a trip to Appleton Estates, which was a real highlight of our stay – a beautiful and well-run experience. However, once again, the lack of gluten-free meal options during the excursion was disappointing and should be addressed by the tour provider. Summary Riu Montego Bay offers a clean and comfortable stay with welcoming staff and picturesque views, especially from the upgraded rooms. However, improvements in dining options – particularly for guests with dietary needs – and more natural beach maintenance would greatly enhance the experience. That said, based on our overall experience, I don’t think we would revisit this hotel.

  The hotel stay was ok, expected a bit more day entertainment, my bathroom pipe was leaking but I did not make a report to be honest. Food was ok, service was good. I would recommend the hotel to anyone for a vacation.
